Behind The Scenes – Halloween Icons
  • In the midst of getting all this work done, Bryon Summers and I sat down last night and started working on a Behind the Scenes vid to show a little of the set up and work that went into our first two Halloween Icons sets.  Consider this a teaser for my upcoming blog series for all of you photographers out there!  We’ll be covering how to set up and execute a photoshoot from start to finish.

The series will go as follows:

    1. How to Create Your Session

In this post, we’ll cover how to brainstorm ideas, find subjects, secure locations, and complete the necessary contracts using your computer (which in my case is an Apple).  PC users don’t fret, there will just be a few differences in how some of your programs will be handled, it won’t alienate you from following along!

    2. How to Prepare For Your Session

So what do we need to get this shoot knocked out?  This week, we’ll focus on selecting the right equipment and procuring those things that you don’t own.  We’ll discuss camera bodies, lenses, flashes, lighting, backdrops, and tips & tricks for carrying out your shoot!

    3.  Getting Your Work Out There

After you’ve finished shooting, the focus must change to capturing, cataloging, and editing your photos.  This is where Adobe Photoshop and Bridge will get there chance to shine!  We’ll cover batching, automation, workflow, processing tips & tricks, and safely storing your images.

    4.  Building Your Following

In our last post, we’ll be discussing how to use Google Android, a very powerful mobile operating system, and your Mac to build a following.  It’s important as an artist to get yourself and your work visible.  This is the only way to get MORE work!  In my experience, social media has become a very powerful and instantaneous tool to accomplish this feat.  We’ll be covering apps that you can easily use to build your website, manage your created social networking accounts, and keep in touch with the ever changing world of photography.

As for this teaser video, this was to be a little of what you can expect from these posts..

    Here’s the result:
