Norfolk State vs FAMU (Homecoming 2010)
This year’s Homecoming for the Norfolk State University Spartans marked the 75th anniversary of my alma mater. There was plenty of food, fun, drink and excitement to accompany such a huge milestone for what was once known as “Little State”, in reference to NSU’s beginnings as a subsidiary of Virginia State University. Norfolk played host to Florida A&M University and their Rattler following had no problem making the trip up to Old Virginny to see their home team take home another close victory over the Spartans. Homecoming 2008 saw FAMU snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with a last second field goal. This year, NSU seemed to rips defeat from the jaws of victory as they fell to the Rattlers on a two-minute drive executed perfectly by FAMU aided by some poor tackling by the Spartan defense.
Since my duties in the athletic department have me shooting video, it’s tough for me to get great action shots of the game, and pulled frames aren’t my idea of “quality photos” so I could only attach a handful of images to this post. I did however post the video highlights! Enjoy. As my last homecoming in Virginia, I sure did.
