Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 8:00 p.m., SpikeTV will be premiering the first video game trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man” during their Video Game Awards.  The game is set to be released alongside Sony Picture Entertainment‘s aptly titled reboot film in the Summer of 2012.

Activision and Marvel teamed up to bring us a continuation of the events that happen in the film, while including the web-slinging goodness Spider-fans (see what I did there?) crave.  Unlike some of the later Spider-Man games released, this particular iteration of the Spiderverse goes back to the roots of what makes the wall crawler such a fun character.  The engine is based around free roaming environments (New York City) that allow for organic growth of the storyline.  Speaking of the storyline, it’s sure to be a great one as it’s being crafted by Hollywood writer Seamus Kevin Fahey, full of journeys all over Manhattan and Peter Parker’s teenaged life.

I was tasked to knock out a few more product shots for some upcoming sneaker releases and before shooting I got the idea to add a little flare to my typical setup.  By heading out to Home Depot and picking up a sheet of plexiglass, the end result of these shots was exactly what I had in mind.  Here’s a few to give you an idea as to what I did. The set up was two lights on full power in a light shed.

Atlanta music artist Wyld Money of New Age Rock Stars Records contacted me about doing some themed photo sets for his press kit as well as online presence. His team had a few ideas they wanted to explore, and left the technicalities up to me. When working within a client’s parameters, sometimes things can get a bit muddled. This wasn’t the case with Wyld, as his group (in partnership with Solomon Casting) provided models, props, and wardrobe.  I just took the essence of their idea and married it with the things provided to bring their idea to fruition!

These images were captured using various 4 light set ups, while the composite image was lit 3 different ways to make the composite work.  Gear list consisted of

• 4 - Alien Bees B-800s ranging from 1/8th power to full power
• 1 – 30″ x 60″ softbox
• 1 – 10° grid

A very big thank you to Stephanie Solomon, Smoke Official, King T and the models for making this series an easy one to pull off.  Here are a few images from the set while i’m completing the processing!

Made it up to DC and was booked to shoot some images for artist GWayne‘s press kit and website. The shoot took place in a very moody older home, which made lighting a fun task. I enjoyed spending time trying out some new things and it was a great session for getting some individual issues I had with balancing ambient and strobe lighting ironed out.

While i’m cleaning up my image library, I noticed I had quite a few images that were never posted anywhere after their uses (newspapers and so on), so here’s a bit of 2010 era goodness… The game took place in Piscataway, NJ at Rutgers Stadium.

In prepping for the Vibe Vixen spread and working on Atlanta Got Sole’s #NSFW on-going series, there was obviously some practice time needed. I hadn’t done true portraiture in quite a while and was new to “glamour” if that’s what the label is currently, and I wanted to try out some new lighting & techniques as well. These are a few of my favorite images from that early round of shooting, as well as a couple of sneak peeks at a series coming soon with a special young lady that’s flying under the radar for a few more months… She’s be all over your TVs soon though, promise!

This post has been sitting dormant on my computer for quite a bit… Finally decided to go ahead and up it, so here goes:

The Atlanta Falcons yearly scrimmage during training camp was altered a bit this season due to the lockout. Instead of going with a typical scrimmage, they used most of the available time as a normal practice, however it was open to the public. I was granted sideline access, so here are a few images I snagged from a day of capturing footage for an interview with Thomas DeCoud for Atlanta Got Sole. I used the 70-200mm f/ 2.8 with a 1.4x extender and was pleased. I still would love to have a 300 or 400mm 2.8 though. A guy can dream can’t he?

Virginia native and one half of the rap duo The Clipse has branched off and started a career as an author. His first book, Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind & Naked has been garnering attention and he’s taken it on a tour across the country. I shot and edited this interview for Atlanta Got Sole at his stop in Atlanta while talking writing, music, and his love for story-telling.

The homie M-Millz blessed me with another opportunity to stretch my design and branding muscles with his latest single from Mo Pain featuring Atlanta’s favorite Waka Flocka Flame. This is the first of quite a few to come I think… Be on the look out for more music soon.

Since i’ve arrived in Atlanta, my skill set has been tested. I’ve grown as a graphic designer, honed my editing skills a bit more, and picked up a few videographer tricks along the way. Throughout these past months however, i’ve been neglecting my craft as a still photographer.  A very welcomed opportunity arose in my working for Atlanta Got Sole to start shooting product shots for upcoming sneaker releases.  Our last batch proved to be very popular, getting picked up by Sneaker News,  Here’s a handful to check out while the official articles are written and published.

Things have been a touch stagnant as of late, i’ve got a LOT on my plate. My focus has changed up a touch and the transition from news & sports coverage is picking up faster than I previously expected them to. As a result, things are going to be changing layout and content wise to keep up with the bookings and experience i’m gaining as official videographer for multiple artists and labels in the area. The next two days are going to be devoted to cleaning my plate persay prior to the site redesign that’s going to be taking place very shortly. Bear with me, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as chapters are being closed and new chapters are being written.

Last week I spent my time booked in LA with Wyld Money and the rest of N.A.R.S. Records covering their NBA All Star Weekend experience. I was asked to put together the footage I shot as well as some footage previously captured by another shooter to compile a sort of “year in review” type piece to be presented to Danja. This was one of my first forays into doing my clip processing in After Effects instead of Premiere, and boy am I glad I decided to take that dive! The advantages of Adobe Dynamic Link versus rendering processed clips to be dropped into Final Cut are astounding, and I doubt i’ll be using FCP anytime soon. Anywho, here’s the quick chop up. Other footage is being leaked slowly but surely, so stay tuned for more antics, hijinks and interesting moments…

Spent a week in LA for NBA All-Star Weekend, but not to enjoy the game. It was a work vacation for me, I spent my time documenting the week’s events for N. A. R. S. Records, a label headed by Super Producer Danja. Label members Wyld Money, Kevin Cossom, Incredible Lago and Cali Stylz were all in attendance along with a slew of guests throughout the week. Short post because i’ve got a ton of work on my plate right now between Atlanta Got Sole, a couple of web design clients and my gig. Enjoy.
